New Haven Independent has been Rebuilt!

New Haven Independent is now running on ExpressionEngine. The site has been completely rebuilt. There are still some old pages linked, but all content since 1/10/2010 is using the new system. There’s been some bugs here and there to clean up but it has been a massive undertaking. We’ve added a few new features and there is lots of room for growth.

CTNewsJunkie is now on ExpressionEngine!

As of Saturday night, CTNewsJunkie is now on ExpressionEngine.

CTNJ brought me some ideas about layout and functionality changes earlier this year that would have been undoable with the old system. I cleaned up some of the layout and did some minor design from Doug’s layout. Visitor’s s sound happy and took to the new comment registration immediately.

New CTNewsJunkie, New Haven Independent and Branford Eagle built on ExpressionEngine coming along nicely. Created a quick site for writer/photographer… and wife Kathleen Cei. More in progress, others in the works.

Northampton Media

Based on the Online Journalism Project model, designed and developed by smartpill. Another ExpressionEngine-driven site. Still being fine tuned, but the news waits for no one.

Valley Independent Sentinel

New hyper-local news site for the Naugatuck Valley area — the latest branch of the Online Journalism Project. Also built in ExpressionEngine this will be the foundation for the new N.H.I.… coming January 2010.

New Haven Preservation Trust

A collaboration with designer Jenny Chan of Jack Design (layout). We did all structure coding (xhtml, css) and scripting as well as set it up with ExpressionEngine to give NHPT control over the content. Check out the great photos in the Historic District galleries.

Greater New Haven Events Calendar

A self-serve events calendar with built in form-based entry. Detail pages include driving directions and file attachment. Other features and design enhancements to come. Also built with ExpressionEngine.

GNH Community

Currently offline. Community Foundation of Greater New Haven needed a way to get direct feedback regarding the current financial climate. Setup CMS (ExpressionEngine) set to play video and accept comments from registered users.

Carole Bass

All design and coding. Setup content management system (ExpressionEngine) for client-controlled content.

Spider's Web, LLC

All javascript and some CSS assistance for new site design.

James Velvet

Design and development for musician and radio personality James Velvet. Conversion from Movable Type to ExpressionEngine (02/09).

Chandra Prasad

Design and coding (xhtml, css, javascript) of site for author. Also uses Movable Type for content management.

CT News Junkie

Converted site to Movable Type eliminating the spam plague and adding new features. Original layout has been refined and added a rotating ad column, recent comments, pagination and image captions. 12/2009: Converted site to ExpressionEngine with some layout changes and added features.

New Haven Independent

All design and development. Originally built on Movable Type 3 (Sept. 2005). Switching to ExpressionEngine mid January 2010.
